Wellness

A Wider Focus

It’s natural to hear the term “wellness” and assume the conversation is about physical health. Of course, that is true to a certain point. What we like to talk about – and put into action – is wellness defined in a much broader way. Simply put, our Wellness Program takes the whole person into account. It is a bigger-picture approach that gives equal emphasis to body, spirit and mind.

Focus On The Body

“Feeling your best” and “being your strongest” are critical and we address them head-on with our fitness, therapy and recreational activities.

When it comes to staying fit, we will meet you where you are. We offer group exercise classes – at all ability levels – to improve strength, flexibility, balance, endurance and mobility/agility. A major benefit – reducing fall rates.

A small example: Walking club, breathing for balance class, gym workouts and much more.

Focus On The Mind

Good news – keeping your mind sharp can be fun. Every activity we plan – a packed calendar of social, educational and recreational activities – is all about connecting. Sharing your thoughts. Sharing stories. Sharing laughs. All nimble exercises for the mind.

Here’s just an idea of what we’re talking about: Movie nights, book clubs, planned group trips out for lunch or dinner, visiting entertainers, shopping excursions, cooking classes, social hours, dominos, bingo, checkers, crossword group, card games (oh, the card games), bocce ball and shuffleboard on our patio.

There is no end to everything you can enjoy with your circle of friends.

Focus On The Spirit

Life can surprise you – in good and bad ways. That’s where our innovative Pastoral Program comes into play.

Some people listen with their ears, Others, like our onsite Chaplain, listen with their hearts. That means you will have someone who, right here and now, understands, cares, comforts during times of questioning and stress. Also, someone who will encourage, motivate and celebrate the good things and happy times in life.

Equally important, the Chaplain can be spiritual partner. Trained and dedicated to providing worship, Bible study and counseling. We, of course, welcome people of all faiths and beliefs. The Chaplain is here for everyone – supporting each resident in his or her individual spiritual and life needs.
