The Basics Part
Viridian Towers, owned by Emory University and managed by Wesley Woods Senior Living, is an independent-living, residential retirement community for individuals 62 years of age or older. Viridian Towers is a proven choice – one of the very first standalone communities created specifically to serve the needs and wishes of older people. We have welcomed residents for over five decades – and been honored to serve more than one generation of some families.
The Where Part
Look around Atlanta, and it would be hard to find a more perfect spot for someone who likes activity, convenience and entertainment. Our location is in the city’s historic Druid Hills section, just down the street from the Emory campus. It’s a true urban oasis – a mix of everything you want (friendly, quiet) and need (medical care, restaurants, banks, pharmacies) and easy access to all that Atlanta as whole has to offer. Need a ride? We provide regular bus service.
The Nature Part
It’s normal to think “surrounded by concrete” when you hear we are in a major urban environment. Surprise! We are actually – and delightfully – “surrounded by nature.” We are part of a 64 acre, lushly wooded park. So, whether it’s a stroll with your best buddy (of the two- or four-leg variety), a power walk as part of your exercise plan, taking your visiting grandkids to see the birds (and deer and racoons and…) – all it takes is stepping out your door to hit the trails and soak up that fresh air.
The Emory Part
Being associated with Emory University and Healthcare is a point of pride for residents. Emory is one of the nation’s leading research and academic institutions. Emory Healthcare is the largest healthcare system in the state of Georgia, with seven major hospitals. The university also operates the Winship Cancer Institute. Of particular note: there are many doctors on the Emory roster who specialize in geriatrics and the holistic needs of older people.
And let’s not forget the fun part of Emory — continuing learning classes, museums, performing arts and many other events open to the public. They’re all here for you to enjoy.
